AQUA MED Ltd was registered in England and Wales in 2016 as a strategical decision to move
to a business-friendly jurisdiction. Nevertheless the history of the AQUA MED name is much
older. AQUA MED was founded by Dr. Konstantinos Kostopoulos in 1985 as a Greek LTD (EPE)
company. Since that time and ever since, company’s activities have been devoted to modern
aquaculture, and especially fish mariculture. The name AQUA MED (Aquaculture
Mediterranean) includes one basket of professional associates of Dr. Kostopoulos, who are
involved in various projects, mainly oriented to the field of mariculture. These associates are
scientists of various fields of expertise, technicians, engineers, business and marketing
specialists, specialized salesmen, logistics and transport agents, economists, accountants,
mathematicians etc. 

MANAGEMENT

Dr. Konstantinos Kostopoulos, is the founder, shareholder and manager of the company is a
biologist, specialist in marine fish aquaculture:

Ph.D Thesis by the Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ – Texel/Holland) in auto-
ecology and physiology of marine fish1982-85
Doctorate by the University of Athens in fish growth and metabolism. 1988.
Post Doctorate Research sponsored by the Government of the Netherlands together with
NIOZ (The Netherlands), IBERO Anlangentechnik GmBh (Germany), FARMOCEAN A.B.
(Sweden), University of Athens (Greece), Hellenic Institute for Marine Reasearch (Greece),
aiming to the development of modern techniques for fish culture. 1988-1991.
